It's so important to be mindful. You create your life. Everything that happens in your life is because of the actions you take, the responses you make. The reason you do the things you do is because of how you think it will make you feel.

So how do you want to feel? If you were at the end of your life, what are the things that you are going to wish you had been doing? Or not doing?

It's your life. You make the choices. Sometimes we can feel out of control, like life just happens to us and all we can do is react. I have felt this way many times.

The best way I have found to get back on my feet and in control is to go back to the beginning. When I go back to the beginning, I go inward. I ask myself what it is that I really want. Am I living my life according to those things that I value?

Or, am I living at the effect of my circumstances? Because circumstances are neutral. The good news is, having a personal mission statement will keep you on track and living from that place of power, of control.

A mission is your guide for your life. It is the map for where you are going and how you're going to get there.

I created a Personal Mission Challenge so that when you feel chaotic, or when you need to reassess yourself, you have something easy to guide you. Living a balanced life sometimes means saying no to things and focusing on your highest priorities.

You understand that you are in charge of your life. First you have your dream, or what you want your future to be like, before it can be like that. Everything must be created twice. This is a true principle of life; we must first have the blueprint before we can build the house. We must first know that we create our life and know what we want to create in it before we can live that life.

So going back to the beginning means re-discovering the self. Who are you, what do you like? It means writing a personal mission statement. It means knowing why you get out of bed and do the things you do everyday.

It means living on purpose.

You must first understand and discover yourself before you can try to fulfill your roles and set goals. If you don't take care and make time to do this, you will keep getting in your own way. You will have to effort more to get things done, to get them to work out.

Your Personal Mission Challenge has three main parts. You can do this in 15 minutes if you want, but I want you to really understand who you are. Give yourself time to think about your life.

  1. Be Responsible
  2. What's Your Story
  3. Writing Your WHY

This free mini course will help you discover yourself, write your personal mission statement, and know what you want to be and do. Once you have your mission, or your why, it will be easier for you to set goals.

You are a sum of your parts. Your roles are a part of you. Define who you are and let your true mission in life show up. Remember that it's personal. There is only one of you, and your mission statement must reflect you. There is no right or wrong way of how it should be. It can be short or long. Be creative, be you.

When you read your mission, it will excite and motivate you.

The key is to get started.

Tomorrow you will wish you had.
